ALEXANDREA AMSTUTZ
FEATURED PROJECTS
This project was completed in the summer of 2018 on second study abroad to Rome, Italy. Whilst living in the eternal city I studied how ancient structures coexist with midcentury modern styles and explored indigenous materials native to Italy. I have a designed an artist residency in the neighborhood of Trastevere, where any type of artist is welcomed to use the facilities to create their works.
This project was completed in the Spring of 2018. We explored and learned programs such as Revit and AutoCad to complete the design. For this design I created a cafe based on the principles of a World Cafe. I researched the main concepts that a space needs to acquire to be considered a World Cafe and created a floor plan based on these ideals.

WORLD CAFE
This project was completed in the spring semester of 2019. I researched what the library of the future will look like for us as students and community members. I explored the shifts and trends of the 21st century library and created a design revolving around my research.
WORKPLACE
PROJECT
This project was completed in my final semester at Ohio University and was based on the ideals of diversity and inclusion within the 2020 workplace. Using Oldenburg's Third Place theory drives the layout of design within the selected space. The chosen materials reflect an array of cultures within the workspaces to bring the notion of inclusion through design.
